ANAHEIM — A 64-year-old man drove a vehicle through a garage and damaged a gas line Sunday, Aug. 27, authorities said.

A call came in at 6:25 p.m. that a vehicle hit a house near 270 S. Rose St., Anaheim police Sgt. Ryan Tisdale said.

The driver, who was stuck in the vehicle in the garage, didn’t receive serious injuries, but was transported to UC Irvine Medical Center in Orange, Tisdale said. No other injuries have been reported.

Units from the Anaheim Fire Department responded to a reported vehicle into a house about 6:25pm Sunday in the 200 block of Rose. Crews arriving at the scene found a white sedan had crashed into the attached garage of a home taking out the side wall of the garage. The driver was transported in unknown condition to a local hospital. No residents were in the home at the time of the crash. The building has been red tagged by building inspectors. According to Anaheim police and fire department Twitter posts, the crash severed a gas line and caused a major gas leak.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation, Tisdale said. The Anaheim Police Department, however, tweeted that driving under the influence was “probable.”
