President Trump's longtime aide and former bodyguard Keith Schiller intends to leave the White House primarily for financial reasons, CNN and Bloomberg reported Friday.
Schiller earns $165,000 per year in his role as deputy assistant to the president and director of Oval Office operations. Last year, Schiller made $294,000 in income from the Trump Organization, Trump's campaign and KS Global Group LLC, his private security firm, according to a White House disclosure form published by ProPublica.
White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders told CNN the report was "not true," and Schiller declined to comment to CNN. CNN cited three sources in their report while Bloomberg cited one.
According to CNN, Schiller has told people he plans to leave at the end of September or beginning of October, and he plans to pursue a job with a higher salary, Bloomberg reported.
Schiller, a former NYPD detective who has guarded Trump since 1999, made headlines earlier this year as the man who delivered the letter to former FBI director James Comey informing him that he had been fired.
