On May 10, Kim Kardashian West and husband Kanye West welcomed their fourth child into the world via surrogacy. A week later, the pair has finally revealed the name of their newborn baby boy.
“He’s here and he’s perfect!” Kardashian gushed to her 60.7 million Twitter followers last Friday. She was instantly flooded with warm wishes and congratulations on her new bundle of joy. Not long after, fans were pleading with the KKW Beauty founder to share the name that she West had chosen for their fourth child.
Rather than releasing the name of her baby right away, Kardashian instead decided to share pictures of her baby shower on Instagram. There, she posted intimate pictures of the celebration for all 138 million of her followers. The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star then revealed that the shower took place a week prior to the baby’s birth.
The pictures feature the mogul celebrating with friends and family in a large and lush backyard. The images show various pops of blue, which is the traditional color used at showers for baby boys. But, of course, this wasn’t your average baby shower. One image of her first-born daughter, North, and niece, Penelope, lying on blue mats hint that there might have been some yoga instruction at the party.
Reminiscing about the baby shower, Kardashian gushed, “We celebrated our baby boy about a week ago and now he’s here! He’s so perfect! Here are some pics of my CBD baby shower. I was freaking out for nothing because he is the most calm and chill of all of my babies so far and everyone loves him so much🧸”
Following the pictures of the baby shower, there seemed to be nothing but white noise in regards to news about the baby. A full week passed before the entrepreneur would release the name of her son. But, on Friday, she officially introduced the world to Psalm West.
Psalm West
On Friday, Kardashian shared a sweet text message from husband, Kanye. Along with a picture of their newborn son, West also wrote, “Beautiful Mother’s Day. With the arrival of our fourth child, we are blessed beyond measure. We have everything we need.” Kardashian went on to caption the image “Psalm West” revealing the baby to the world for the first time.
Though Psalm West is officially official, we can’t help but think up a few of our favorite names that could have worked just as well for a Kardashian/West baby. Here are a few of our favorite pairings.
4. Mae West
Though we never expected this family to go with an unoriginal name, we still like the idea of naming a child after an iconic figure in Hollywood. The late actress, Mae West, certainly was an icon and was famed for her fruitful career and sexual independence. No doubt she would have had no trouble keeping up with the Kardashians.
3. South West
Okay, we admit that there would be some serious issues with getting this name trademarked. Still, we can help but love this idea. It would be really cool if Kardashian’s oldest and youngest children both had names that doubled as directions.
2. Bear West
In a recent interview with Vogue, Kardashian admitted that Psalm’s name would definitely not be another direction. But, we love the name Bear West because it still gives the feeling of traveling and direction i.e. bear west at the fork in the road.
1. Wild West
This is hands down our favorite combination of names. This name sparks so much fun, and it would be great to see if the child embodied his or her name, or was the complete opposite.
We’ll keep these names on ice just in case the famous couple decides to have another child in the future. Until then, welcome to the world, Psalm West.
