We appreciate comedy. But we love, love, love music.
That's the message from Artis—Naples, which announced its full performance season this week. Music stars rule the schedule, and many of them are returning favorites: Gladys Knight (March 1), Paul Anka (March 8-9) ,Johnny Mathis (Jan. 19), Patti LaBelle (April 3), Mandy Patinkin (Jan. 19), The Beach Boys (Feb. 16) and Kenny G (March 4).
Violin legend Itzhak Perlman and pianist André Watts perform special concerts March 15 and Nov. 21, as does Sutton Foster (Feb. 23), multi-Tony winner who originated the Fiona role in 'Shrek the Musical," and Janet in "The Drowsy Chaperone."

Other talents aren't left behind: A Feb. 14 show stars Bill Engvall, of "Blue Collar Comedy TV," on the WB network" and his own sitcom, "The Bill Engvall Show," for TBS, which ran for three seasons.
On the schedule Nov. 10: Ventriloquist Terry Fator, 10-year Las Vegas star whose puffy creations are unique takes on vocal stars such as Elton John and Garth Brooks. There are at least two comedy shows as well, including a return of Second City Jan. 25.
Country-crossover star Trisha Yearwood ("Every Girl in this Town," "She's in Love with the Boy") brings her Grammy-winning country vocals Dec. 8. And her counterpart in jazz, the silken-voiced Jane Monheit, comes for two shows March 7 in the Daniels Pavilion.

On the horizon of continuing education, the venue has added a sleuthful hook in the appearance of FBI Special Agent Robert Giczy to talk on "Art Fraud: A Primer," at 10 a.m. Jan. 27 in the Daniels Pavilion.
And it has added a multi-media attraction. Audiences can see "The Independents," first shown at the 2018 Naples International Film Festival, on April 9, and then, on the next two nights, hear the musicians who created it. The Sweet Remains is a three-man band of singer-songwriters distinguished by rich harmonies, which harks back to super-groups like the Eagles and Simon & Garfunkel.
Artis—Naples has previously announced its Broadway and orchestral series, with the highly popular "Hamilton" retelling of this nation's birth as its headliner. Also on that series is another trending American experience musical, "Come From Away." This announcement fleshes out dates in Hayes Hall and the Daniels Pavilion with concerts, comedy and lecture series.

The Naples Philharmonic builds on what is becoming an annual event: a soundtrack paired to a popular film within a week of the Naples International Film Festival. This year the orchestra veritably stars with Harrison Ford in the high-music action hit, "Raiders of the Lost Ark," Oct. 27.
Artis—Naples also has devoted considerable resources to the tribute trend. At least nine concerts either directly channel or pay musical tribute to legendary stars and eras, most of them in two-show runs in the Daniels Pavilion:
