Young, Artis L. - The Chattanoogan

Artis L. Young, 65, was called home on Monday, July 1, 2019.

Artis was born and raised in Chattanooga. He was a graduate of City High School.  He was employed in food service.  He attended Carson Newman College where he played football.  He was a member of Second Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Young Sr; mother, Clarice Young; brother, Richard Young and Robert Young Jr. all of Chattanooga.

He is survived by his daughter, Summer (Matt) Duver; grandson, Lucien Duver; sisters, Claudette Davenport and Tara Poindexter of Chattanooga and Mia Johnson of Springfield Tn., and a host of other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

He will lie in state on Thursday, July 11, from 12–8:30 p.m. at John P. Franklin Funeral Home.
