Gas leak suspected in house explosion, owner’s father says - MLive.com

KENT COUNTY, MI – A Lowell-area house that exploded early Monday, Dec. 16, was being remodeled.

No one was inside when the house - at 2936 Fallasburg Park Drive NE, near Three Mile Road - exploded.

The blast damaged another house and sent two residents of that home to the hospital, said Eric Wold, whose daughter, Kelsey Wold, owns the house that was destroyed.

She was not staying in the house while it was being remodeled, he said.

The house is in Kent County’s Vergennes Township.

Wold was at the scene Monday morning. He said he is uncertain what caused the explosion but suspected it was a gas leak.

State police fire investigators are working at the debris-littered scene.
