Christmas Candlelight Walking Tour of Historic Mechanicsburg Eat, drink (cider and hot chocolate), and be merry. Museum buildings will be decorated for Christmas. Venture out and sing Christmas carols to music played on the organ at Union Church; have some beef vegetable soup, bread, cheese and cider at the Frankenberger Tavern, and enjoy hot chocolate and cookies in the 1930s atmosphere at Eckles Drug Store. Tours start every half hour.
Dec. 1 in downtown Mechanicsburg. Tours depart every half hour from 4-7:30 p.m., and last 2 hours.
Cost: $15 ages 10 and older; $5 ages 3-9. Advance tickets required. Benefits the association.

Christmas at Fort Hunter
Take a guided tour of the mansion, highlighting the holiday trimmings and customs of Christmases long ago. The Civic Committee of the Garden Club of Harrisburg decorates with fresh greens, fruits, and dried and fresh flowers.
Part of the Christmas at Fort Hunter is the Festival of Trees that is held 12:30-4:30 p.m. the four weekends prior to Christmas. Six themed Christmas trees will be on display, and handmade ornaments, baked goods, and fresh holiday greenery will be available for purchase. The trees are available by raffle drawing.

Cameron-Masland Mansion Holiday Open Houses
Enjoy self-guided tours of the decorated Cameron-Masland Mansion, light refreshments, holiday crafts for kids and live music. Celtic harpist Pat Putz performs Dec. 1; cellist Joanna Roberts on Dec. 8.

Christmas at Cornwall Tour
The 24th tour takes a new turn this year. It will feature tours of historical, restored buildings, including Cornwall Iron Furnace, the 19-room Buckingham Mansion, 1881 Sarah Coleman greenhouse and the 1860's Paymaster's Office. Intermingled with the visits to these buildings, there will be many family activities. Guests can enjoy caroling, visits with Santa and Belsnickel, a model railroad display, horse-drawn wagon rides, crafts for children and the sale of gifts and cookies.

Harrisburg Candlelight House Tour
The theme of the 46th annual tour is "Beauty in the Burg." The Tour will feature a variety of single-family residences and condominiums, and architectural landmarks that reflect the city's architectural heritage.
Tour-goers can see everything from three-story Colonial-revival mansions to Victorian and Queen Anne townhouses and twins, to modern loft apartments in the former Moose Lodge on Third Street in Midtown and the old Fox Hotel in South Harrisburg. The tour is sponsored by Historic Harrisburg Association.
1-6 p.m. Dec. 8, in the city of Harrisburg.
Tickets are $20 in advance (check website for list of locations); $25 on the day of the tour (at the Historic Harrisburg Resource Center, 1230 N. Third St.).

Christmas at the Mansion and Holiday Market
Held as part of Historic Harrisburg Association's annual Candlelight Tour of historic homes of Harrisburg, the holiday market features artisans presenting their traditional/heritage creations such as: wood carving, pottery, quilts, graphic art and paintings. Santa will be on hand to greet the kids.

Middletown Holiday Home Tour
The Middletown Area Historical Society will present the annual Holiday Home Tour, featuring many Middletown area homes decorated for the holiday season. Area artists will be set up in several historic buildings within the borough. A Dickens Holiday Tea will be held noon-2 p.m. at The Event Place, Union Street. Tea tickets are $25.
