HOWELL - What started as a vehicle fire ended up destroying a Ethan Drive house on Wednesday morning.
Fire trucks and emergency vehicles lined the road as flames tore though the structure, collapsing the roof.

Howell police received multiple 911 calls Wednesday morning reporting a vehicle fire outside a home on Ethan Drive, police said in a Facebook post. Police scanner reports indicate the fire started about 10 a.m.
When officers arrived, the fire had already engulfed the vehicle and had spread to the back of the home.
The occupants of the home were able to safely evacuate, according to police.
"The fire quickly consumed the residence," the post read. "It was completely destroyed."
At least one firefighter was injured battling the blaze at the approximately 4,500-square-foot structure, WABC-TV reported. He was taken to an area hospital and treated for smoke inhalation.

Multiple fire companies from Howell and Farmingdale responded to fight the blaze along with township emergency medical services.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Howell Township Fire Bureau, but it is not believed to be suspicious in nature.
