Nature lovers with an affinity for life’s finer things should feel right at home in this gated Old Preston Hollow estate built by S&R Development and designed by David Stocker of SHM Architects.

The house at 5020 Park Lane in Dallas is co-listed by Dave Perry Miller’s Laura Michelle and Ryan Streiff. Michelle said she most covets the house’s windows, which create a feeling of “having the outdoors brought in like that.”

The windows, she said, were a difficult feat of engineering while building the house. The house has more windows than most new constructions, and the windows meet seamlessly at the corners.

But, despite the surplus of windows in the house, it remains highly efficient and largely private.

“Some of these homes are so tight together that you’re just literally staring at another house out of your window,” Michelle said.

Upon first entering the home, one sees a gallery hall with imported Italian stone flooring, accented on one end by a decorative wine cooler.

At one end of the gallery sits a large sitting room and a gourmet kitchen with Energy Star appliances and a waterfall island.

The house’s master suite is spa-like, Michelle said. In addition to a spacious bedroom with a private reading nook and fireplace, the suite includes a Travertine marble master bath with separate his-and-her closet spaces and water closets.

All told, the house includes five bedrooms, five full bathrooms, and two half bathrooms. But the house’s exterior spaces are equally impressive.

The entire lot is wooded, and private gardens spread throughout the 1.12-acre lot. Behind the house — past the pool and private casita — rises a lush terrace that Michelle said is large enough for a full-size tennis court, should the house’s next owners decide to install one.

The poolside casita includes a bathroom, a living space, and a closet, Michelle said. And while the space could be used as a guest suite, it could also be used as a poolside gym or as a space for entertaining.

The house, which Michelle said was recently dated with a “sexier look,” is listed at $6,595,000.
