Greater Northern Raiders' first step into Cricket Tasmania Premier League's under-18 vacation cup proved fruitful, defeating North Hobart by five wickets at NTCA 2.
Chasing down the visitors' total of 126, Launceston's Will Bennett top scored for the junior Raiders, getting his side out of trouble to amass 39 off 67 balls, as he and Westbury's Joel Lloyd (27 off 23) saw the side over the line.
Ulverstone's Julius Kerwin played a vital role with the blade in early doors, scoring 32 off 41 and scoring all over the ground.
With the ball, Riverside duo Sam Artis (4-23) and captain Cooper Anthes (3-18) celebrated the spoils of the victory.
Artis claimed both openers to edge the Raiders in front before Davis (41) and Will Collins (37) began rebuilding their innings until a rapid collapse saw their side lose 7-23.
The Raiders have the bye on Wednesday before recommencing their campaign against University of Tasmania at NTCA 2 on Thursday.
